We made an exciting delivery of our newly designed waste bins to LVS Ascot. As part of a fun and educational sustainability project, students from reception to year 6 were invited to create their own artwork inspired by themes of recycling and protecting the environment. The children put their creativity to work, producing colourful and imaginative designs that highlight the importance of looking after our planet.

Our team then took these drawings and brought them to life by transforming them into vibrant stickers, which were wrapped around the school’s new waste bins. These bins are now proudly displayed around the school. Two of the bins were dedicated to two of the students’ fantastic designs. These year 5 & 6 students did an amazing job at capturing the importance of sustainability through their creativity.

By involving the children in the process, we hope to inspire positive recycling habits for years to come. It was fantastic to see the students’ creativity turned into something practical that supports the school’s sustainability efforts, and we’re proud to have helped bring their ideas to life.

We also made a delivery of two compactors to the school: one general waste and one recycling. These compactors are built to compress waste materials, reducing their overall volume and making waste easier to manage and dispose of. For businesses that produce large quantities of waste, investing in a compactor can deliver major benefits, including lower disposal costs, greater operational efficiency, and improved environmental sustainability.

By transferring some of the current trade waste services provided to LVS to compactors for both general waste and recycling, we will be able to deliver more accurate waste analysis in support of the school’s recycling-at-source targets.

The introduction of compactors will also eliminate the need for daily collections on site, helping to reduce the school’s carbon footprint and supporting both the school’s and our shared goal of achieving net carbon reduction. Additionally, this approach will improve health and safety by significantly reducing vehicle movements around the site.
