The Heavy Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and management of all heavy plant equipment across Shorts Group. This includes ensuring that all machinery is maintained to the highest standards, operating efficiently, and complying with safety regulations. The machinery includes but not limited to, excavators and attachments, crushers, screeners, shredders, and forklifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for scheduling work on a daily/​weekly basis.
• Ensure efficient use and optimal performance of plant equipment.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Create and manage maintenance schedules for proactive maintenance.
• Manage repair activities and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs.

  • Maintain, repair and service all HGV vehicle fleet to a professional and high standard. Maybe required to repair and service plant equipment.

HGV Driver covers Skips, RoRo’s, Tippers, RCVs (once appropriate level of training is provided) and should complete all operational duties within guidelines ensuring that wherever possible performance targets are met or exceeded.

• To comply fully with Shorts group ISO and Health and Safety policies.
