Person Specification:
• Qualifications/requirements include Telehandler qualification to NPORS Standard with knowledge of relevant agricultural health and safety policies and procedures.

The Heavy Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and management of all heavy plant equipment across Shorts Group. This includes ensuring that all machinery is maintained to the highest standards, operating efficiently, and complying with safety regulations. The machinery includes but not limited to, excavators and attachments, crushers, screeners, shredders, and forklifts.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for scheduling work on a daily/weekly basis.
• Ensure efficient use and optimal performance of plant equipment.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Create and manage maintenance schedules for proactive maintenance.
• Manage repair activities and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
• Mentor, support and where required train a team of plant operators and technicians.
