Job Description

  • Mobile Plant Fitter covering all types of heavy machinery including; excavators (3 – 50t), screeners, crushers, tele-handlers, shovels, High-Speed & Low-Speed Shredders, dozers and all types of plant used within transfer stations.
  • Maintain, repair and service all equipment as per manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Attend breakdowns on all sites as required at any other designated site.
  • Maintain parts stock or advise manager in relation to any required purchases.

Job Description

Main Duties

  • Hedge cutting (Must be able to cut hedges to high standard for non-agricultural customers )
  • Digestate fertiliser and slurry spreading/​injection, using Joskin Tanker equipped with application mapping soft where
  • Operating JCB Tele-handelers for materials handling rolls
  • Fertiliser, cropkare and Lime Spreading including variable rate application using KRM, Kuhn spreaders
  • Repair and maintenance to machinery

Additional duties and experience would be beneficial

  • Spraying Experience
  • Hay Making: cutting, tedding and baling then transporting and stacking the bales.

Job Description

Job Description

The work and fleet are varied and include 3.5 tonne to 32 tonne. An HGV Driver covers Skips, RoRo’s, Tippers, RCVs, Beavertails (this list is not exhaustive) (once appropriate level of training is provided) and should complete all operational duties within guidelines ensuring that wherever possible performance targets are met or exceeded. Complete work instructions, ensuring all relevant information (inc PDA), is completed/​filled in.

  • Remain vigilant and challenge anything that may result in service failure or complaints from the customer. Raise issues asap.
  • To comply fully with Shorts group ISO and Health and Safety policies. Comply with all traffic laws and legislation as well as safe working practices within the disposal site with relation to your duties including the security and weight of loads.

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Company fleet (currently around 100 vehicles) is supported to be effective, legal and compliant.

 Main responsibilities

  • To manage and administer all aspects of the company Operator license.
  • Ensure that all DVSA and company compliance standards are adhered to. This includes working with the Workshop Manager to ensure timely scheduling for PMI, MOT, servicing, drivers routine checks and that the workshop is maintained with inspections etc. Carry out audits.
  • Daily monitoring of the defect reports.
  • Review, document and improve compliance and safety in operations/​safe systems of work. Support driver briefings on performance, operations, health & safety etc.
  • Take action against any infringements reports on from Tacho reports.
  • Manage and control costs of fleet maintenance and work with managers to ensure efficiency.
  • Report to senior management as required on KPI’s (costs, availability, accidents etc).
  • Ensure all incidences/​accidents reported are investigated and actioned upon. Administrate Vehicle/​Insurance databases and claims. Negotiate insurance renewal.
