An incredible milestone - Piotr celebrates 20 years with Shorts Agricultural!
This week we’re celebrating an incredible milestone – Piotr’s 20th anniversary with Shorts Agricultural as our Compost Yard Foreman! Over the past two decades, Piotr has been a fundamental part of the team, leading the team that turns organic materials into top-quality compost. His hard work, expertise, and commitment to excellence have helped our family business grow and our compost thrive.
Piotr began his career at Shorts in the compost yard as a beginner, where he was picking plastics, before he went on to become an operator. After 5 years, Piotr then became a Foreman and has been enjoying this role for the past 6 years.
Piotr says “It is a pleasure to work here. I have learned a lot about myself since starting here when I was younger that I still carry with me today. My main goal working here is to make our compost as top quality as possible; that is the mission every day.”
“My favourite part about working at Shorts is that we have a lovely team. I’ve been working with some members of the team for almost as long as I’ve worked here. It is a great operation that we have and we understand each other very well, so it is important to have a good team. Another favourite thing of mine is my morning coffee!” Piotr said he was caught off guard by this surprise and hadn’t had a chance to get a haircut yet before the photos!
Bryony Morten-Short, Operations Manager, shared how she remembers working in the yard when she was 12 years old when Piotr began working at Shorts.
