Support for local community event – Chiddfest

Sep 13 in Company, Plant and tool hire & shops

Shorts Plant and Tool Hire in Milford recently supported  local community event Chiddfest, by providing fence panels, free of charge.

We are delighted to have received a lovely thank you letter from the organisers of the event.

“This is a very belated thank you for all the support you gave to ensure the success of Chiddfest 2017 , which raised a phenomenal £23,000!  We wouldn’t have been able to put on this event without your help.

As well as raising a fantastic amount of money, Chiddfest brought the whole community together in a truly enjoyable way.

We have counted all the money and are in a position to distribute the money raised to the following organisations:

£16,500 has been allocated to St Mary’s School. We have already spent £6k of this donation for the building a new KS1 playground for the school in the summer holidays. The other money will go towards electronic white boards, a new music sound system and a much needed storage shed for the school PTA.

£2,000 was given to The Music Works in recognition of the important work it does with local children and the input it has in putting on such a successful event.   They have donated this money to their own charitable activities The Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Centre in Guildford.

Other organisations  have also benefited in the following way:

£750 Chiddingfold Village Nursery

£750 Chiddingfold Youth Club

£500 Chiddingfold Beavers, Cubs, Scouts

£500 Chiddingfold Brownies & Guides

£750 Chiddingfold Football Club

£750 Chiddingfold Cricket Club

£250 Messy Church – run by the Joint Churches

£250 Chiddingfold Mum & Toddler Group

These donations will have real impact on the organisations in the village, which rely so heavily on fundraising.

Thank you once again for supporting Chiddfest 2017 and helping to improve the experiences available to the children and young people in our community. We know that they will go on to be lovers of music and more invested in their own local community being brought together at such a great inclusive event!”
