We are PAS 100 and CQP (Compost Quality Protocol) certified. This means that the production of our compost is certified as being consistent, traceable, standardised and safe. You can be confident that any green waste collected by Shorts is handled and managed correctly, and any compost you buy from us is of a high quality from reliable, safe sources.
Yes, we are happy to deliver compost to you in anything from 1,000 litre bags (this is about 20 times the amount in a ‘garden centre’ bag) up to 27 ton lorry loads if you need a large amount of compost or topsoil. Please see our products page for more details.
No, sorry. We are unable to accept ‘drop-offs’ from members of the public. This is partly because we need to keep our compost facility clear, and lots of cars will cause problems. We also have to keep traffic to a minimum so as not to disturb our neighbours. Many councils now offer collection services, or you can drop the green waste off at your local recycling centre. The green waste may well end up with us, but it’s just not possible to accept it directly.
